Brave Heart is currently our main and sole partner. They address various urgent issues in the Meheba Refugee Camp, including education, trauma counseling, orphan care, and support for the elderly. Amity is committed to enhancing their holistic approach by funding their medical and food needs, enabling them to expand their services to additional refugee camps where their assistance has been requested.
Hope Clinic
Presently, we support a public medical clinic that provides free healthcare services for refugees with year-round access. Hope Clinic conducts diagnostic tests and administers treatments for conditions such as HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis, and various other diseases. We offer follow-up care and prescribe medications as required. Notably, our clinic welcomes women in labor and features separate patient wards dedicated to women, children, and men.
To enhance efficiency, we have a dedicated ambulance that facilitates our operations. This vehicle not only streamlines our workflow but also transports patients with needs beyond our scope to Lumwana General Hospital.
In 2023 alone, 14,050 people were served with free healthcare at Hope Clinic.
Peace Project
Brave Heart's Peace Project stands at the forefront of our initiatives, conducting a comprehensive assessment of the needs within the camp community. Our approach involves mapping out these needs and developing strategies to address them through a variety of projects.
Food distribution plays a crucial role in this project, aligning with our overarching goal to ensure that no one in the community suffers from hunger. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to the overall well-being and resilience of individuals within the camp.
The Peace Project, in particular, not only provides mental trauma treatment, courses, and therapy but also focuses on preventing incidents of violence in the camp. The goal is to heal through human connection, firmly believing that this project facilitates the restoration of individuals who may have lost hope for the future until our workers intervened.
